Installing

⚠ Windows will warn you — that's expected

CCOS isn't code-signed yet (certificates cost hundreds a year, and CCOS is free). Windows SmartScreen shows an "unknown publisher" warning for any unsigned app. Here's how to get past it:

Click More info on the blue SmartScreen dialog.
Click Run anyway.

If you'd rather not, that's completely fair — you can build CCOS yourself from source instead.

Download and run the installer

3.4 MB. It installs in seconds — no account, no telemetry, no bundled junk.

Bring your data over

Open Settings → Import browser data, pick your Firefox profile, and choose what to bring: bookmarks, history, passwords.

Add your extensions

Settings → Extensions → Scan Firefox add-ons, then tick the ones you want.

Set up Dual View

Open the ≡ menu → Dual View, pick a session for each side, and go live.

Is it really free?	Yes — free forever, no accounts, no ads, no paid tier.
Does it track me?	No telemetry. Your data stays on your machine; passwords are encrypted with your Windows account.
Why the security warning?	It's unsigned. See the install section above — the warning is about the missing certificate, not the app.
What is it built on?	Rust and Chromium (via the Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime, already on Windows 10/11 — that's why the installer is small).
Will DRM video work?	Netflix-style DRM (Widevine) is not supported by the underlying runtime. Ordinary video — YouTube, Twitch, Rumble, Kick — works.
Does it update itself?	Not yet. Check back here for new versions; auto-update is planned.
Mac or Linux?	Windows only for now.
